Dante was born in the middle of a violent struggle for power between the two factions that defined both Italian and Florentine politics throughout the Middle Ages. During the tour, you will learn more about the events of Florentine history that saw these two factions fight against one another, alternatively taking back control of the city and changing the fate of many Florentine families, including Dante’s.
