Museum History

The museum

The establishment in Florence of a museum dedicated to the Supreme Poet was, from the outset, a priority objective for the Unione Fiorentina, a prestigious cultural association founded in Florence in 1949.

For the Unione Fiorentina, the fundamental aim of the care, conservation and management of Dante’s House Museum is, today as at the time of its foundation, to spread knowledge of the life and works of Dante and the medieval Florence he lived in.

Virtual Tour

Have a completely immersive experience taking a tour through digital 3D spaces, special hotspots and exciting storytelling

An innovative technology allows to “virtually” walk through the rooms of the Museum and explore the new multimedia set-up. With only a smartphone, a tablet or a PC visitors will find themselves in medieval Florence alongside the Supreme Poet from the comfort of their home.

The technology used by ETT to create the virtual tour makes it possible for the 3D digital space and the user to interact through the hotspots, which can be activated in an easy and intuitive way. The visit is available in both Italian and English.
